If you are getting ready to sell your single-family home, there are some things that you are going to have to do first. One of the things that you are going to have to do is to have a home inspector come out and check out your house. The home inspector is going to look at your house and check out everything and give you a list of stuff that needs to be worked on before you put the house up for sale. So, what are some of the things the home inspector is going to look for?

Roofing

One of the things that your home inspector is going to do is to inspect your roof. They are going to look at several things in regards to your roof. One of the things they are going to do is to climb up on your roof and take a close-up look at it. They are going to look to see if there are any loose shingles or other roofing materials, soft spots, or holes. While they are on the roof, the inspector will also look to make sure that the gutters are on tightly and are clean and hole-free. Then the inspector will come in the house and look at your attic to see if you have any leaks. Finally, the inspector is going to want to see any paperwork you might have about when the roof was replaced and any warranty on it. 

Crawl Space

The home inspector is also going to take a look at your crawl space. They are going to look for several things while they are in your basement or crawl space. One of the things that they are going to look for is any evidence of things like carpenter ants or termites. Those things can cause a lot of damage to your house by gnawing away at all the wooden supports. The way that they will look for that evidence is to see if there are any small piles of sawdust around the studs or foundation. That will show that something has been chewing on the wood.
